The seventh edition of Tawdheef was officialy opened by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on Tuesday.
Over 8,000 job seekers attended the first day of the three-day show.
Among those offering various positions on the spot include oilfield service provider Al Mansoori Specialised Engineering (1,000 jobs) and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (500).
Emirates Aluminium and the UAE homeland security company, Advanced Integrated Systems, meanwhile, posted 250 positions and 200 vacancies, respectively, for UAE nationals. Union National Bank also has 201 vacant posts for Emiratis.
Mubadala Development Company, Abu Dhabi’s strategic investment and development company, also offers 25 different positions to different nationalities. Mubadala and its subsidiaries including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Al Taif Technical Services, Strata, the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Company (AMMROC), Emirates LNG, Yahsat, and Healthpoint also continue to offer development and training opportunities for UAE nationals across various disciplines.
du also has more than 200 training and career development opportunities for UAE nationals. The company said it will be recruiting 60 Emiratis in various positions this year, starting from the entry level.
In keeping with the Emiratisation strategy, the private sector was well represented, comprising 34 per cent of the more than 100 exhibitors at the show. “Tawdheef is a key link bringing together Emiratis and employers under one roof,” said Hayete Jemai, exhibition director for Tawdheef.
Exhibitor sectors include the government, finance, healthcare, insurance, retail, tourism and hospitality, energy, industrial, media, recruitment, defence and security, IT, telecom, transport and logistics.
Tawdheef is open from 10am to 6.30pm daily, with today morning from 10am to 1pm reserved for Emirati ladies only. Entry is restricted to UAE national job seekers from 10am to 4pm,.
