Abbas expresses interest in Kuwait’s view on talks with Israel

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Abbas said his visit to Kuwait on Monday will include reviewing with H.H. the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the latest developments relevant to Palestinian-Israeli talks.
"Kuwait plays a significant role in the region" and this visit is aimed at boosting overall ties, he added.

Abbas lauded Kuwait’s overall political and economic support for Palestinians, adding that Palestinians hold much respect for Kuwait as it has been greatly supportive since the 1948 crisis.

"We can never forget that Palestine’s contemporary revolution was launched from Kuwait" that has extended much public, political and financial support to Palestine’s cause and factions, he noted.

Ties between Palestinians and Kuwaitis go back to decades of mutual respect and "We have overcome previous obstacles through God’s support and the wisdom of Kuwait’s leadership," he explained.
