The organization has also called on the Saudi regime to “immediately release” Bajadi, who has been on a hunger strike for more than a month.
Bajadi, the co-founder of the Saudi Civil and Political Rights Association, was detained in March 2011 for supporting families gathering outside the interior ministry in Riyadh to demand the release of detained relatives.
He has been charged with “participating in the establishment of a human rights organization, harming the image of the state through the media, calling on the families of political detainees to protest,” among other things.
Saudi Arabia has been witnessing anti-regime demonstrations since March 2011. Several people have since been killed and many others injured or detained by regime forces.
