They affirmed that the UAE is one of prominant countries in providing help to the needy worldwide.
The participants commended on UAE’s initiatives in the field of voluntary and humanitarian work which was outlined by late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of UAE and the course followed by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
A Emirates Voluntary Association team is participating in the event, which is being organised by Lebanon’s National Volunteer Centre in cooperation with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work under the patronage of the Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri.
Dr Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive of the Zayed Charity Initiative, said the initiative of the late Sheikh Zayed is a model for the humanitarian and voluntary work.
He praised the efforts put in by the charity bodies for local development and community service.
He also commended the Arab countries, which embrace voluntary work and encourage.
Dr Shamri added that Shaikh Zayed’s initiative attracted over 30,000 volunteers to deliver its humanitarian message to about 100 million Arab and African.
