Dr Ulrichsen was scheduled to speak at a conference organised by the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), allegedly to promote inaccurate facts about the situation in Bahrain.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement carried by official news agency BNA, stated that this position is a true reflection of the strong of bonds of fraternity between the UAE and Bahrain and an example of GCC cooperation in addressing such issues.
The ministry called on universities and academic researchers within the GCC countries and abroad to stress the importance of scientific impartiality and objective research in forums and conferences, taking special care to act in their appropriate roles, especially when dealing with information and facts related to the GCC countries, thus empowering their credibility and becoming an exceptional link of cultural, scientific and academic relations.
