Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said that Al Marzooq’s trial is politically motivated and lacks credibility considering his trial a prosecution of political activism in Bahrain.
Al Marzooq’s arrest had sparked international condemnation of Bahrain by the United Sates, the European Union and international rights organizations like Amnesty and Human Rights Watch as well as local and regional organizations.
Al Wefaq stated that the evidence put forward by Al Marzooq’s defense panel are strong enough to close the case which lacked credibility in the first place and is no more than a targeting of the opposition members.
