The statement was released by the Minister of Health’s office after the President of the Bahrain Nursing Society Rula Al Safar was quoted on Monday by local newspapers revealing plans to go with 6,000 other nurses on strike that would affect ER sections and surgical operations.
The statement said that no one approached the ministry’s officials about the strike and such action was illegal because government employees cannot form their trade unions according to the law.
Al Safar told Khaleej Times that she was misquoted and she called only for a gathering today evening to distribute orange ribbons among nurses to wear as objection to the delay in the implementation of the cadre and demand pay rise.
