The services committee recommendations will be studied in tomorrow’s parliament session.
Under the law, which would come into effect after next year’s parliamentary elections, the Premier would be paid BD17,500 a month, his deputies BD15,400 and ministers and those ranked as ministers BD5,400 each (up from BD3,500).
They would receive another BD1,500 as monthly representation allowance, a monthly social allowance of BD500 and a phone allowance to be determined later by the Premier.
Shura Council and parliament chairmen, who are ranked as ministers, would also get BD5,400 a month – up from BD3,500.
MPs and Shura Council members would get basic monthly salaries of BD2,500, up from BD2,000 and vice-chairmen would get BD3,500, up from BD2,500.
