He said this would have a role in bolstering ties between the countries and developing them. The premier hoped that with the launch of the Iranian gas imports to Bahrain would increase cooperation and broaden economic relations between Bahrain, Iran and the gcc in general.
The premier was speaking yesterday during a meeting with Oil and Gas Affairs Minister Dr Abdul Hussain Mirza who presented to him the Iranian Oil Minister, Gholam Hossein Nozari.
The visiting minister conveyed to the premier the greetings of Iranian President Mahmood Ahmedi Nejad and those of the first Vice President Parviz Davudi and their wishes to Bahrain of further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the premier commended the advanced level reached by ties between the countries, affirming the keenness of Bahrain to bolster cooperation and coordination to meet the aspirations and the mutual interests.
The premier welcomed the Bahraini-Iranian cooperation in oil, gas and energy sectors and managing that through a joint follow-up committee.
The Prime Minister wished the committee success in its duties and that it would contribute to enriching cooperation between the two countries.
Moreover, the Prime Minister commended the exchange of visits between officials in two countries for its role in moving bilateral ties to higher levels.
The meeting also reviewed topics related to global economic developments and their impact on the economies of the region.
