Parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani personally secured the meeting, which will take place at Government House.
But Al Wefaq said yesterday Mr Al Dhahrani did not consult parliament’s general-secretariat office, which it said was assigned to ask the Premier to attend one of parliament’s sessions.
"We hoped the Premier would attend to discuss inflation in parliament, that would have given parliament the respect it deserves," Al Wefaq said.
The Future Bloc slammed Al Wefaq for boycotting the meeting and accused it of ignoring parliamentary consensus.
Meanwhile, parliament will hold an extraordinary session to discuss the government’s alleged failure to fulfil its promises made in the four-year blueprint presented by the Premier to parliament in December 2006. The date will be decided by parliament’s general-secretariat office.
