Head of the Parliamentary Temporary Grievances Committee, Hamad Al Muhanadi told Khaleej Times on Tuesday that the complaints against different government organisations would be taken seriously.

“Grievances against Ministry of Housing topped the list and most of them focused on the delay in offering housing services,” he said.

Al Muhanadi said that the parliament would probe into complaints against the ministry for providing houses to new applicants, while more than 40,000 families had been waiting for years. “We will ask about criteria for offering housing services and why neglecting the right of citizens to get decent homes.

” Al Muhanadi said that the panel received a strange complaint that the Housing Bank illegally took a land owned by a citizen. The owner of the land was surprised when the bank started constructing a house on his property. “We have contacted the concerned bodies to stop the construction project until the investigation is over.”
