Khaleej Times: An innovative security programme which was first thought up by a Dubai Police official has been highly praised by Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim.
The “Your Security at the Touch of a Button” programme means members of the public facing real-time danger now have a direct link to the Command and Control Room. With the simple touch of a button, police can now respond to an SOS call without the need for voice interaction.
The device can be used with smart phones and house alarms and can be used by any member of the public including senior citizens.
During a discussion with policing staff and experts at the Dubai Police headquarters, Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan said that the programme has been developed to serve the needs of citizens inside or outside the State.
During the discussion on the future ventures of the Dubai Police, Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan said the policing authority are keen to see their practices internationalised and spoke about the importance of sharing ideas with other policing authorities.
Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan and the attendees also discussed the need for building a strategic plan which contributes towards upgrading the Emirate of Dubai.
Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan called on the support of the Dubai Police employees, particularly those holding degrees and expertise in the fields of forensics and electronic technologies, to accept upcoming challenges over the next 15 years, in order to make it one of the leading authorities in the world.
