The taskforce will be under the chairmanship of Khalifa bin Demas Al Suweidi, Advocate General and head of the technical office of the Attorney General. The taskforce is made up of a group of counselors of high experience.
Al Suweidi said the move is part of public prosecution’s plan to join forces with its partners to have a more safe and just community by combating such crimes by experts.
‘The resolution crowned a policy adopted by the technical office in dealing with cases of trafficking in persons since the issuance of the the federal law on combating human trafficking in 2006,’he added.
The team, he added, would devise a mechanism to handle such cases, provide legal, psychological and social support for victims of this crime and educate members of the community about the dangers of the crime.
The team will also update legislations in human trafficking and boost the government’s efforts to cooperate local and international organisations in fighting the crime.
