Ahmed added that most-traded items were food, clothing, rugs, cars, diamonds, jewelry and gold.

He also said that in the period, imports and exports reached USD1.36 billion, whereas re-exports reached USD8.43 billion.

It is worth noting that 80 percent of the UAE’s non-oil trade is transferred through Dubai.
