The Forum is organized by the Qatar National Human Rights Commission (QNHRC) in collaboration with the High Commission for Human Rights and the UN Centre for Studies and Documentation of human rights for South West Asia and the Arab region, with representatives of several agencies and organizations on human rights and other relevant authorities taking part.
The two-day Forum, to be held under the slogan (Promotion and Protection of Human Rights … Challenges, Achievements and Aspirations), aims to establish a Gulf network for human rights institution, support human rights institutions in the region and encourage the setting up of national institutions for human rights in countries that do not have these organizations. Among the senior participants in the forum is the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay.
