The council reiterated the UAE’s sovereignty over the three islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Mussa occupied by Tehran.
Speaker of the FNC Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, who presided the seventh session of the council, said the Iranian statement only restates the claims, which the UAE does not accept.
He urged Iran to respond to the UAE’s calls and repeated peaceful initiatives for ending Tehran’s occupation of the three islands according to the principles of international law.
