Al Ghurair underscored the major role played by the council in gaining international support for the UAE in the issue of its three islands of Greater and lesser Tunb and Abu Moussa occupied by Iran. “Our national issue to restore the sovereignty over the three islands of Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Moussa, occupied by Iran has gained much more support for UAE stand to solve the problem according to the principles of international legitimacy,” said Al Ghurair.
Addressing the FNC session held here on Tuesday, he said, “The parliamentary unit at the House had played an active role in different GCC, Islamic and international parliamentary activities, as well as launching several initiatives, which had contributed effectively in activating the agencies of the parliaments in different fields.”
The Council, during this session, had confirmed the stands of the UAE towards different issues on both regional and international arenas.
He underscored the council’s loyalty and appreciation to the Leadership of the country for the unwavering and kind support the council gets, enabling it to dedicate efforts in preserving the interests of the country and the nationals, and serve the society.
He also recounted the achievements of the council, which included the sessions held, questions put to the ministers and the draft laws it sanctioned among other related matters.
The FNC concluded its final session in the 14th Legislative Season on Tuesday. The session, chaired by the Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, discussed the policy of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and decided to submit a memorandum containing the FNC recommendations to the cabinet.
