The welcome was voiced by the ambassadors of the 10 countries, notably the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the GCC member states, and the European Union (EU).
The Ambassadors said in a release that the army reshaping decree is consistent with the principles of the GCC initiative, which provides for the unification and shakeup of Yemen’s armed forces.
But, they called on all parties concerned to support the recent presidential decree and work to ensure it would be put in place soon, according to the release. Appreciating it as an essential step, they said the decree would be conducive to the goals and objectives of the National Dialogue Conference.
