He said in a statement the FTA was initialed on behalf of the GCC by Omani Undersecretary of Ministry of Economy Abdulmalek Al-Hana’e, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the GCC.
The signing ceremony took place in the capital of New Zealand, Wellington.
Al-Attiyah anticipated the FTA to be signed at a ministerial level in near future.
The FTA between the GCC and New Zealand aims at boosting trade exchange, activating economic and investment relations between both sides.
The GCC is made up of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
