Al Attiyah stressed that this meeting constitutes a “quantum leap in strengthening the close relations between the two countries”, which have gained strength and durability under the wise directives of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Al Attiyah described the signing of the framework agreement on Darfur conflict as a “historic event”, praising the Emir’s wise and positive vision, announced at the signing ceremony, highly appreciated and welcomed by the international community.
“The declaration of the Emir to set up a development bank in Darfur represent a practical step to support peace, security, stability and development in this region”, Al Attiyah said, stressing that the Qatari position reflects the “wise and rational” policy adopted by Qatar and the Qatari diplomacy’s capacity to achieve a number of national reconciliations in the Arab world.
