Al-Zayani expressed his condolences and sympathy for the victims of the terrorist incident at a military parade rehearsal on Monday in the capital Sana’a.
He expressed his confidence that the terrorist and criminal act would make the president’s determination stronger to overcome Yemen’s difficult circumstances according to the Gulf initiative.
Al-Zayani stressed that the GCC’s States will spare no effort to back Yemen in order to achieve the desired stability and development.
Earlier, the GCC Secretary General condemned strongly the explosion, describing it as a criminal act.
In a press release issued by the GCC Secretariat General, al-Zayani said that the incident is a failed attempt to stop Yemen’s march to stability and development, while President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi, Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa and the Yemeni government are concentrating on the political, economic and social reform as well as creating the required environment to launch a national dialogue.
The incident emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts and doubling actions to address such criminal acts of terrorism and activate the resolutions and statements issued by the international and regional organizations concerned in combating terrorism, he said.
The explosion occurred Monday in al-Sabin square at a military parade rehearsal for the National Day on Tuesday, which marks the 22nd anniversary of the 1990 unification.
