‘Gov’t has vision to end student enrollment dilemma for good’

Al-Mlaifi said to reporters at the National Assembly that the problem of admitting new students into Kuwait University is not new and has started in the past three years, particularly when the number of high school students began rapidly graduating.


The minister noted that graduation from high school was normal until the year 2008-09, when 5828 students were accepted in the university, however in 2009-10 the number of students graduating increased to ten thousands.

The minister added that the reason behind the increase number of high school graduate due to the new unifying system of high school, which increased the number of grads, however regulations for approval by the university remained the same.

Al-Mlaifi noted that despite such circumstances, the university has taken new measures, including financial assistance and administrative approval for students who were not accepted in the university, who are 2095 students.
