During the meeing, the Bahraini monarch emphasized his country’s keenness to nurture all effort aimed at enhancing pan-Arab work and promoting cooperation among Arab states.

Present at the meeting were HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa,.

King Hamad hailed issues on the conference’s agenda including mainly those pertaining to improving workers’ conditions and protecting labour rights to cope with international changes like the global financial crisis and the need for the one-team spirit to reduce its repercussions. He also praised the influential role of the Arab Labour Organization in boosting workers’ potentials and encouraging scientific researches.

HM the King lauded contributions of the Arab Labour Ministers to promoting joint Arab work and feeding the Arab labour market with needed competencies while protecting the rights of the three sides involved in the production process.

King Hamad further commended the remarkable role played by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Economic Development Board Chairman in mapping out economic and labour market reform policies.

He also expressed pride in Bahrain’s workforce and its contribution to the development process expressing satisfaction at the kingdom’s labour achievements. Bahrain is eager to set up pioneering projects like the Insurance Against Unemployment, free workers’ switch, developing human resources, regulating the Labour Market and boosting trade unionism, HM King Hamad said pointing out that Bahrain’s hosting of this conference reflects its good reputation worldwide. He asked the Arab Labour Ministers to convey his greetings to Arab leaders wishing their countries further progress and prosperity.

Arab Labour Organization Director General Ahmed Loqman expressed thanks and gratitude to the Bahriani King for hosting the said meeting which, he said, represents a great support to all participants in the conference.
