Shaikh Khalifa, in an interview with the leading Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram, also outlined his views on several key issues and initiatives – from finding a just solution to the Palestinian problem to ensuring the full recovery of Iraq; from questions related to the Iranian nuclear programme and regional stability to the GCC defence strategy.

He also commented on the need to resolve the demographic imbalance in the UAE and the current global financial crisis.
