Israel has killed scores of Palestinian youth, women and children in consecutive air and ground offensives and indiscriminate bombardment of the residential areas. Doctors say Israel used cluster bombs because all the 50 wounded admitted to Shifa Hospital on January 16 have lost limbs.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Qatari Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa ath-Thani expressed aberrance at the alarming scale of deaths in Gaza and said that the international community should hold the criminal leaders of the Zionist regime accountable for the human tragedy perpetrated by them in the Gaza Strip. President Ahmadinejad said that the Palestinian nation is passing through a critical period calling for a serious action to be taken to stop the Israeli crimes. The Iranian chief executive called on the Organization of the Islamic Conference to force Israeli regime to stop its crimes. Ahmadinejad said that political and humanitarian actions should be taken urgently to alleviate sufferings of the Palestinians, adding that the Arab League and OIC would hold emergency meetings to study how to stop the humanitarian catastrophes in the Gaza Strip and dispatch food supplies and medicine to the Palestinians.
