Mottaki, in a meeting with Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry Maqboul bin Ali bin Sultan, said cooperation between Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states was important.
"Cooperation opportunities between countries of the region are diverse, and Oman has an important role in boosting this collective relation," Mottaki was quoted by a statement as saying.
Mottaki said economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Oman was "positive and constructive." Sultan said Iran and Oman were cooperating in a project on liquified natural gas.
He said both countries were keen on cooperating in economic and commercial domains.
