The warning by Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham came in reaction to the Al Khalifa regime’s detention of Bahraini opposition figures and religious leaders as well as depriving tens of Bahraini people of their nationality.
"Practicing such obsolete punishments and seeing no difference between the peaceful protests of that country’s people and the terrorist acts of Takfiri groups will be no help to the settlement of the problems," the Iranian foreign ministry spokeswoman said.

She also advised the Bahraini officials to try confidence-building measures to pave the way for opening serious dialogue and talks between the political system of the country and the people.
Both the UN and the EU have urged that the only way out of Bahrain’s current crisis is dialogue and national reconciliation.
Bahrain has been witnessing almost daily protests against the Al Khalifa dynasty since early 2011, when an uprising began in the kingdom. Since then, thousands of protesters have held numerous rallies in the streets of Bahrain, calling on the Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.
