Shaikh Khalifa made the decision when he received Shaikh Mohammad and His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, yesterday at Al Bateen Palace.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, were present.
Shaikh Khalifa expressed his wish that the summit would achieve the desired objectives of the Gulf people for more cooperation and integration between GCC nations. He said that this will enhance the GCC’s march and will highlight its role at both the regional and international level.
Shaikh Khalifa said that the Consultative Summit regularly held between GCC leaders has had a huge outcome on what the prosperous GCC march has accomplished thus far. He expressed his hope that the coming summit chaired by Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz will lead to a new and important step forward in the GCC march’s development.
Poets’ call
Later, Shaikh Khalifa received Rashid Ahmad Al Rumaithi, who won the title of the fifth edition of the Millions Poet competition. He dedicated his win to the President.
Al Rumaithi was accompanied Ahmad Bin Hayay Al Mansouri, who came second in the competition.
Shaikh Khalifa expressed his happiness at Al Rumaithi’s gesture, which he said reflects the development of the cultural and literary movement witnessed in the UAE, especially in the area of Nabati and Arabic poetry, which is a source of pride for Gulf peoples and Arabs.
Shaikh Khalifa reaffirmed that the UAE supports all forms of effort in the areas of art, literature, sport, and culture, which further strengthens the UAE’s cultural unity.
Al Rumaithi and Al Mansouri expressed their happiness at meeting the President. Al Rumaithi said that the Million’s Poet title is a symbol of the cultural movement in the region, which was achieved thanks to Shaikh Khalifa’s constant support and encouragement to the movement in the country.
