The King attributed the fantastic rebirth to the kingdom’s steady growth, thanks to its deep-rooted civilisation and contributions of its citizens who served from all levels.
However, His Majesty warned that no advancement is possible without stability, security, rule of law and solidarity. He invited all community members to work hand in hand to build the economy, which is a source of national pride and international acclaim.
His Majesty said this as he patronised in the presence of Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the BDF, Glory and a King, an operetta held at the Bahrain International Circuit, to mark the anniversary.
Also attending the event were senior members of the Ruling Family, Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and Parliament Chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani, ministers, senior officials, MPs, diplomats, dignitaries, municipal council members, heads of societies and guests.
A military parade and the playing of the national anthem was followed by the operetta, which outlined two main phases of Bahrain’s contemporary history.
A poem was recited by His Majesty’s son Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Later an ardha was performed followed by fireworks.
