Sheikh Jaber, briefing the executives at the weekly meeting, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, over his talks with Morin which dealt with training and equipping armed forces, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said in a statement after the meeting.
The defense agreement would be a complimentary and an activation of the 1992 pact.
After signing the agreement, Sheikh Jaber said the deal "allows clearer flexibility for the political leaderships and paves further way for strategic cooperation for Kuwaiti and French forces." Sheikh Jaber voiced content for signing the agreement and said it opened sapces for military and technological cooperation.
The cabinet, meanwhile, took note of a message sent by the former US President Jimmly Carter to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah over efforts by the Carter Center to end suffering of the Sudanese people from the Guinea worm and Trachoma diseases.
Carter, in his message, also appreciated the partnership with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
The cabinet, on the other hand, approved a draft law over e-transactions and referred it to the Amir.
It also approved a bill changing the name of the Transportation and Storage Group.
The council of ministers has also reviewed a draft law over the fight against money laundering, approved a draft tourism agreement with Laos, another tourism agreement with Azerbaijan, oil and gas cooperation agreement with Burnei, as well as a memorandum of understandign with Tunisia over the development of industrial exports.
