Speaking to reporters following a meeting of the parliamentary financial and economic committee, Sheikh Ahmad, who also doubles as Minister of State for Development Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, said: "The government will show every possible cooperation with the assembly with a view to fulfilling the aspired goals.
He said that both government and MPs had shared similar views on the latter’s five-year plan and program of action during the parliamentary sitting.
He expected that the committee would compile a report in this respect as soon as possible and would thereafter refer it to the assembly for further deliberations and then approval.
Several major development projects would be launched and more shareholding companies would be set up next year, the minister added. The government would set a top priority to the implementation of its development plan and program of action, the minister pointed out.
The cabinet Sunday assigned minister of state for parliament affairs Mohammad Al-Busairi to coordinate with National Assembly speaker to hold a special session on December 30 to discuss a bill that places Kuwait sports law in harmony with International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Charter.
The cabinet, in its weekly meeting, wanted to hold this special session to discuss a draft law on how the Kuwaiti sports law were in harmony with IOC Charter and statutes of international sport federations, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said in a statement
The cabinet, meeting under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, took note of a message sent by the President of Gambia to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said Al-Roudhan.
The cabinet members also took note of a message sent by the president of the Comoros Ahmad Aballa Sambi to the Amir on the former’s aspiration on the outcome of the meeting between the chambers of commerce and industry of Kuwait and the Comoros.
The ministers also reviewed a message sent by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan to His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad which included an invitation to visit Tatarstan. The cabinet, said Al-Roudhan, welcomed a visit by the Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Saeed to Kuwait on Monday which aimed at boosting bilateral relations in all domains.
Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad briefed the cabinet members about outcome of a recent visit by the Egyptian President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak and his summit talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, regarding bilateral relations and exchange of views over regional and international affairs.
Sheikh Nasser, noted Al-Roudhan, also explained outcome of Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s recent visit to Kuwait and his talks with Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on ways of boosting bilateral relations and cooperation in all domains.
