Acting Interior Undersecretary Lt. Gen. Slaiman Fahad Al-Fahad expressed this sentiment as he addressed the opening session of the two-day meeting of GCC interior undersecretaries here. He stressed the importance of exchange of updated data, approximation of views and stances, and current measures and efforts on GCC scale in this field.
This meeting is of great significance, not least because of the situation at present in the region, he said. The current situation requires clear vision and swift action to ward off any dangers.
The official expressed appreciation for the good organization and warm hospitality by the host country, and also appreciated the efforts of UAE Interior Undersecretary Saif Al-Shaghfar which ensured smooth progress of the session.
The interior undersecretaries of the GCC are preparing for the 30th meeting of GCC interior ministers which convenes October 25-27.
The officials reviewed recommendations related to security cooperation, counter-drugs efforts, and other illegal phenomena.
The Kuwaiti delegation includes a host of officials from different departments of the Interior Ministry handling dossiers on state security, legal affairs, municipal council affairs, public relations and morale, special security, and Arab security and Interpol.
