Commenting on the opposition of a few MPs, such as Adel Al-Saraawi, to his proposals about the stateless persons (Bedouns), Al-Deqbasi affirmed MPs have the right to express their opinion on any proposal. He added his suggestion has won the support of a majority in the Parliament.

Underlining the significance of laying down clear measures to naturalize children of Kuwaiti women, Bedoun soldiers, those included in the 1965 Census, and families of martyrs, Al-Deqbasi pointed out these issues necessitate firm decisions, not only proposals.

He also expressed resentment on the government’s failure to issue birth certificates to children of Bedouns. Accusing the government of delaying the implementation of vital decisions, such as the payment of the KD 50 salary increment to Kuwaiti public sector employees, Al-Deqbasi said the Cabinet should quickly take concrete steps to end the suffering of Bedouns, who have been deprived of their most basic human rights for several years now.

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution recently heard the testimony of former Minister of Finance Bader Al-Humaidhi who has filed a complaint against MP Daifallah Buramiya for verbally abusing him during election campaigning.
