The no-confidence motion is slated for today.
In a statement to KUNA here following the weekly cabinet meeting, Al-Hajji voiced hope that Al-Subeeh would overcome the issue and continue her ministerial post.
He renewed full confidence of his government that the MPs would reach a wise judgment on the issue "if they counseled their consciences." Dealing with the cabinet meeting, Al-Hajji said the cabinet tendered to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah a number of acts that were passed by the parliament recently for endorsement.
The acts will be published in the official gazette soon after endorsement, he pointed out.
The acts, passed by the last parliament meeting, include one on state real estate properties, another on privatization of Kuwait Airways Corporation and a third one on the development of warehouses and border outlets, he disclosed.
Al-Hajji expressed hope that the parliament and the government would continue cooperation to finalize the remaining package of draft laws and "push forward the development and construction of our dear homeland." As for the issue of pay rise, the minister said the Department of Civil Service will review a study on the issue with representatives of the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance late this month.
The cabinet had charged the department to work out a study on the possible rise of Kuwait civil servants in state-run institutions.
The cabinet will reassess the issue in February and announce the final decision on it ahead of the National Day, on February 25, he revealed.
