The National Assembly (parliament) is composed of several parliamentary committees, each serving a different area. These committees are crucial to the legislative and oversight processes as it is through these committees that bills are first discussed, investigations are conducted, and ordinary citizen concerns are raised.
During Tuesday’s session, the parliament voted MP Dr Yousef Al-Zalzalah, Dr Hussain Al-Qwaiaan and MP Rakan Al-Nessif for the committee concerning drafting the reply to the Amiri Speech.
MPs Saud Al-Huraiji, Dr Khalil Abduallah and Faisal Al-Diwaisan were elected for the Committee for Public Petitions and Grievances. Committee for Defense and Interior was assigned to MPs Askar Al-Enizi, Abduallah Al-Teraiji, Sultan Al-Shammiri, Abduallah Al-Timmimi and Dr Mohammad Al-Hiwailah.
