Kuwait’s PM holds inspection tour of state ministries

During an inspection tour of several ministries and state departments, HH the Prime Minister met their leaders to remind them of the need to translate into reality the instructions of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah – “the beloved leader of the country and our example in realizing the national aspirations for prosperity and welfare.”

“We are gifted with mutual love with our political leader, who feels the pulse of the people and is keen on meeting their needs,” HH the Prime Minister said, urging stepping up the efforts to materialize the reforms and the ambitious targets of the development plan.

“We have to focus on the implementation of the projects listed on the national development plan without delay, step up the construction and stabilization process, and remove any obstacles lying ahead,” he underscored.

HH the Prime Minister highlighted the need to tap into the potentials of “our abundant national and human resources” and make better use of the energies of all segments of the society, notably the youth.

He called on the leaders of all state departments to make concerted efforts and work together for serving national interests and protecting public funds.

Addressing the ministers and the leaders of the departments, HH the Prime Minister said: “I’m fully confident of your ability to win the fight against corruption and bureaucracy, and realize the targets of comprehensive reforms.

“You haven’t to worry about the criticisms being leveled by some MPs at the National Assembly since we are open about sincere and objective criticism, which could be conducive to better national action; both the legislative and executive authorities have the same aim that is to serve national interests,” he explained.

“My responsibility, since HH the Amir entrusted me with this national duty (premiership), is to keep my distance from all (political) trends and judge by my conscience in any decision relating to the interests of the people and the homeland.

“In so doing, I follow the steps of HH the Amir, who is always a brother to everybody,” he made clear.

HH the Prime Minister started the tour with visiting the Ministry of Interior, where he was received by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and top leaders of the ministry’s various departments.

He spoke highly of their efforts to preserve the national security, unity, stability and the rule of law.

At the Ministry of Defense, his second leg, HH the Prime Minister was warmly received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Staff Lt Gen Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and other top brass.

He praised their dedication and the sacrifices they offer for protecting the security, stability and sovereignty of the country and the Arab nation.

During his meeting with Minister of Health Dr. Ali Saad Al-Obeidi and other leaders of the ministry, HH the Prime Minister urged accelerating steps to improve the medical services for citizens and residents in the country, and provide public hospitals with the latest equipment and medicines.

He met with Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf and other senior officials, where he reaffirmed keenness of the government on modernizing the educational process in tune with the new national approach to reforms.

“Education is the key to progress and prosperity of any society; it’s also the mainstay of human development,” he said, lauding the ministry’s efforts in preparing a better qualified generation.

During his meeting with Minister of Communications Salem Mutheeb Al-Utheina, HH the Prime Minister praised the remarkable improvement in the ministry’s services to the citizens.

“The services given by the ministry are in line with the achievements brought about by globalization and the revolution of communication technology, ” he stressed.

HH the Prime Minister met, on his sixth leg, the Minister of Oil Dr Hani Abdulaziz Hussein and other senior officials of the ministry, where he asked them to implement the projects listed on the country’s development plan relating to the oil industry – the engine of the national economy.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HH met with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

He also met Minister of Information Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and other leaders of the ministry at the last leg of his tour.
