The visit was aimed at understanding the strategic planning project of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) Qatar.
The PTI director Brigadier Dr Mohamed Abdullah al-Mahanna al-Marri, Technical Office director for HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs and member of the committee for implementing strategic planning of the ministry Brigadier Badr Ibrahim al-Ghanem, director of Strategic Planning Department Col Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti and a number of MoI officers received the delegation.
The PTI director emphasised that the Ministry of Interior is keen on adopting scientific methods for the advancement of its mission by improving the skills and expertise of its employees.
“The Police Training Institute embodies the ambitions of moulding Qatari police men and qualifying them in the best way to take responsibility of maintaining public security in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030,” he said.
Brigadier Badr al-Ghanem gave an introduction on the Leaders’ Development Centre at the Institute and pointed to the co-operation existing with regional and international level including British International College.
“The Leaders Development Centre aims at moulding a new generation of highly skilled, promising and visionary leaders,” he stated. The Centre has held 100 courses attended by 2,000 MoI officers.
Col Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti spoke about the Strategic Planning Department of the MoI. The functions of the department include following up the implementation of the strategy of the MoI and developing the basic rules for the preparation of operational plans for the departments and review it in co-ordination with the departments, committees and working teams. He added that strategy has been developed on the basis of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Captain Dr Jabr Mahmoud al-Nuaimi from the SPD explained Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar National Development Strategy issued in 2008.
Lt Shaheen Rashid Ateeq from Community Policing Section at North Security Department gave a presentation of the community policing project of the ministry.
At the end of the visit, the delegation took a tour of the institute and both sides exchanged mementos.
