Muscat: With the objective of presenting an apt platform for participants to gain valuable insights from successful and experienced entrepreneurs, the National Business Centre (NBC) will organise a series of events in line with the global entrepreneurship week (GEW) between November 15 and 19.
The GEW Oman, which also comes in line with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 45th National Day, will focus on the concept of ‘SMEs beyond borders’, according to a press release.
GEW Oman will be inaugurated by Khalifa bin Said Al Abri, chief executive officer of the Public Authority for SMEs Development. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from successful and experienced entrepreneurs on the key elements of an environment that encourages entrepreneurial growth and is conducive to innovation. They will also be able to meet and network with a broad array of delegates who can help aspiring and potential entrepreneurs take the next step in starting and growing firms.
GEW Oman is an informal entrepreneurs’ gathering to present their ideas and to share knowledge and experience. Mulkie Al Hashmi, director of marketing at NBC, said: "This event takes place in more than 140 countries worldwide and we at the National Business Centre are privileged to host this initiative for the third consecutive year in coordination with various supporting local institutions comprising Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Public Authority for SMEs Development (Riyada), ITA’s SAS, National Bank of Oman, Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic), in addition to Mint Marketing."
The global entrepreneurship week is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators who work together to help bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. The purpose of this initiative is to connect experts and entrepreneurs across Oman and sectors to unleash their ideas and transform innovative ideas into reality. It also comes to encourage entrepreneurs in Oman to be more visible and help them in their efforts to launch and scale.
The National Business Centre is an initiative of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates that aims at offering promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures. The centre provides business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
