In implementation of directives issued by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, issued a resolution expanding the mandate of the special committee.
The committee held a meeting yesterday (Wednesday) to discuss various procedures for implementing Shaikh Khalifa’s orders. The committee also discussed measures taken by the Ministry of Interior for ‘people of unknown nationality’ dossier, which included enumerating persons who have rectified their situation in determining their legal status. The committee urged the segment of people with unknown nationality to quickly sort out their legal status to allow the committee to identify cases eligible for citizenship to grant the same in accordance with current laws and regulations.
The committee stated that those people will receive similar treatment enjoyed by UAE nationals in higher education and health services and have access to sports activities.
It also recommended that people found to satisfy the required conditions get UAE citizenship as per legal procedures.
