The cabinet reviewed a number of topics and national issues and took appropriate decisions. It gave approval for the discussion of issues related to the country’s water resources and environmental problems in the Federal National Council, as per the latter’s request.

The cabinet also approved an agreement, signed between UAE and the Republic of Portugal, on exempting holders of diplomatic passports among the citizens of both countries from visa requirements, as well as another agreement signed with Syria on Air Transport Services.

The cabinet also agreed to prepare a federal draft law amending certain provisions of Federal Law No.15/Year 2005, regulating the participation in camel races.

It also approved the restructuring of the Board of Directors of the General Pensions and Social Security Authority under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance.

The Cabinet also agreed to form a permanent committee attached to the Foreign Ministry to follow up on the Periodic Report on Human Rights. The committee will have as its members, representatives from a number of ministries and relevant governmental bodies.

The Committee will have the mandate to follow-up the country’s periodic comprehensive human rights report as well as other issues pertaining to human rights through the universal periodic review before the Human Rights Council or any other relevant body.

The cabinet also approved the budgets and financial statements of a number of federal authorities.
