Asserting the summer holidays will not affect the grilling request, sources pointed out former Health Minister Dr Masouma Al-Mubarak was subjected to a parliamentary inquest also at the beginning of a new legislative round.
Sources revealed Al-Subaih’s grilling will focus on the alleged violations at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), Kuwait University (KU) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as well as the appointment procedures at the ministry, particularly the appointment of many women to various leadership posts.
Sources admitted the bloc faced many obstacles in pushing for Al-Subaih’s grilling since Al-Salafi Group and Islamic Constitutional Movement (ICM) are bent on giving the government more time to prove its abilities to avoid unnecessary confrontations with the Cabinet.
On the other hand, MP Musallam Al-Barrak has submitted a question to Deputy Premier and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Faisal Al-Hajji on the report of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education about the proposed postponement of the opening of the next academic year until after Ramadan, reports Al-Anba.
Al-Barrak also questioned the Cabinet’s decision to support Al-Subaih’s proposal not to postpone the opening of the next school year which, he argued, contradicts a suggestion presented by the Parliament on April 17 to postpone the opening of classes for the benefit of the students and their parents and guardians.
