Al-Fadel wants to know if Al-Kabouti entered Kuwait on a visit visa. If yes, he requested for details like the person who issued the visa, date of issuance and visa type. He asked whether Al-Kabouti has been a resident in Kuwait. If yes, since when and under whose sponsorship? He also wants to know if it was Al-Kabouti’s first time to visit Kuwait when he was arrested or he was a frequent visitor. In case of frequent visits, was the Interior Ministry aware of his activities? Which institution was he working for and what measures the government intends to take against those who issued him the entry permit? It is worth mentioning that Al-Kabouti was arrested in Hawally in response to the Interpol’s request in preparation for his trial with the Brotherhood leader, Akram Al-Shair, who was arrested in Saudi Arabia. This procedure was taken in line with the international warrants issued by the Public Prosecution to arrest Al-Shair and Al-Kabouti after investigations revealed their involvement in the violent turn of events during the June 30 revolution.
Meanwhile, MP Faisal Al-Shaya asked State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah about the appointments of top leaders and their end of service. He said a large number of undersecretaries, assistant undersecretaries and those in the same level whose tenure had ended but not renewed continue to work as the State has yet to take a decision in this regard. He wants to know the reasons for the non-renewal of their contracts and if they were referred for retirement.
On another issue, MP Mohammed Tana urged the government to quickly submit its alternative to the proposed pay scale to the parliamentary Human Resources Development Committee. He hopes the alternative meets the expectation of the citizens and guarantee equality among workers in the private and public sectors. He affirmed the Parliament is keen on ensuring justice as one of the pillars of society stipulated in Article Seven of the Constitution. In the meantime, MP Abdullah Al- Turaiji submitted a bill that contains 37 articles on investing in the sports sector. The bill stipulates the establishment of a profitable sports club which will take the form of a joint-stock company to be listed on the Kuwaiti stock market.
