Facilities
Meanwhile, MP Osama Al-Munawer has forwarded some questions to Communications Minister Salem Al-Othaina on the implementation of law number 26/1996, which obliges the ministry to provide the necessary technical facilities to communication companies, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Al-Munawer wants to know if the ministry had distributed equal frequencies to these companies, if not, it should justify its decision.
He asked if the ministry sought the advice of international consultancy firms and demanded for a copy of the recommendations of the consultants.
He also inquired if the ministry had formed a committee for the distribution of frequencies and requested for a report in this regard.
In another development, the lawmaker also asked for clarifications on the resignation of the deputy director general for Aviation Safety and Air Transport. He instructed the minister to provide him with a detailed report on the issue, including reasons behind the resignation and the steps taken by the ministry.
