My tweets are personal views: Dhahi

“These never represent or speak for the Dubai Government or the UAE. Actually, my tweets are mostly targeting those who attack our country. They do have a strategy for this. I, as a security man, shall never let this happen,” he said while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Excellent Leaders Forum at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai on Tuesday.

“Whoever proved to be a threat to my country will be arrested, sued and brought to court,” he added, calling for tolerance and reconciliation in all Arab countries.

While 93 per cent of the country’s residents feel safe and secure, the Dubai Police want to improve the record and be the best, he said.

“We are very keen to change the old and distorted image of a policeman who was attached to violence and unacceptable practices.”

He added that the UAE in general and Dubai in particular had managed to create an all-new community police for serving people regardless of who or where they are.

“It is our duty to enhance safety, security, and stability in society, and always provide the best services to our customers on a golden plate.”

Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan said some countries blame the country, and especially for Dubai, for the many nationalities — over 204 — staying here.

“On the contrary, this is a point of pride: people are coming to us to enjoy our good weather most of the year, and most importantly peaceful coexistence, safety, security, stability and prosperity.”

He also talked about a number of strategies indispensable for excellence.

“We should all be creative, think out of the box, be persistent, dedicated, give more attention to customers, have faith in Allah, and always be number one as people mostly remember the top winner rather than the one who comes second.”

Warning ‘unknown soldiers’, Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan said “never let others keep you in the shadow; voice yourself and be known to have your excellent work rewarded”.

Where there was a will, there was a way, he said.

“Thinking creatively, Dubai Police has managed to build up its own central operation room which is a mixture of those in Singapore, Japan and New Zealand. The Singapore Police Chief even decided to change his operation room and copy ours.”
