At the same time, the IEA warned of a potential drop in oil supply and higher crude prices because of delays in investments by Gulf producers.
In the longer term, according to the IEA, oil prices will reach US$216 per barrel by 2035.
Elsewhere, the OPEC cartel said its output was stable but at a near two-year low in October, at 28.89mln barrels per day.
In London trading, Brent crude futures were up 9 cents at US$106.50, whilst West Texas Intermediary futures shed 76 cents a barrel to trade at US494.40.
