The main streets of Oman have been spruced up with the flags of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries and portraits of their leaders as a sign of welcome and appreciation.
Omani mass media has highlighted the country’s preparations for hosting the 29th Summit of the GCC Leaders.
The annual Gulf gathering is expected to attract much world attention since it comes at a critical time when the entire world, including the Middle East region, is locked in trouble due to the current global economic downturn.
Reporters from many Arab, regional and international newspapers are expected to fly to Oman in order to cover the event.
