HH Sayyid Fahd gave the following press statement upon his arrival in Kuwait: “I am honoured and so is the accompanying delegation to participate in the meetings of the 30th GCC leaders’ summit on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and to convey His Majesty’s greetings and best wishes to Shaikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, the government and the brotherly people of Kuwait, along with His Majesty’s best wishes of success to the summit to achieve the aspirations of the region and its peoples.

“The Gulf co-operation march recently witnessed a number of achievements, especially in the economic spheres. Its growing ties with the outer world resulted in the pursuit of joint policies to promote co-operation with economic blocs. The forthcoming stage of the march, on the wake of the developments in the regional and international arenas, entails rallying efforts to promote the council’s work mechanisms and activate its resolutions, in addition to evaluating the nature of challenges that hinder implementation of targeted policies for every stage of the joint GCC march.

“The Sultanate of Oman, led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, reiterates its full support to the council and its blessed march, its continuous strive to make successful all of the steps aimed at developing the areas of co-operation so as to achieve aspirations of the Gulf peoples. As the Sultanate expresses its utmost appreciation to the sisterly state of Kuwait under its wise leadership for the achievements being made in various spheres and for its continuous endeavours in supporting co-operation, it prays to the Almighty to crown these meetings with success to achieve the supreme joint interests for countries and peoples of the region and grant success to the brotherly Kuwaiti people and its leadership to achieve further progress and development."
