Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Busaidi arrived in Tehran on Monday and was welcomed by Iran’s deputy Defense Minister at Mehrabad International Airport.
The Omani official’s visit to Tehran comes at the invitation of the Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.
During his visit, the Omani minister is scheduled to meet and hold talks with President Hassan Rouhani as well as his Iranian counterpart.
The two defense ministers will also sign a memorandum of understanding on Tehran-Muscat defense cooperation on Tuesday.
Earlier in August, in an official visit to Tehran, Omani ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said exchanged views with Dehqan on ways to improve defense cooperation.
