Speaking at the opening session of the 10th consultative meeting for GCC Interior Ministers, Al-Busaidi said that the meeting came at a time were security collaboration amongst GCC states was at its highest levels due to the continuous efforts by GCC Interior Ministries.
He indicated that the current meeting was the ideal chance to further develop GCC relations on the interior sector.
On his part, the Saudi second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz also chipped-in the meeting, saying that all Interior Ministers were happy due to the success of the 11th consultative meeting for the GCC leaders recently held in Riyadh.
He indicated that the GCC leader’s summit and the current meeting were vital especially with the current regional and international developments.
The Saudi official also called for protecting the region from threats, focusing on the security of neighboring states like Iraq and other Arab states.
Kuwait’s delegation is headed by Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled Al-Sabah.
The GCC Interior Ministers held a closed session after the public meeting.
