The Department of Foreign Affairs said the Philippine Embassy in the UAE has stressed it is not connected with any person or company offering such facilitation services.
In a news release, the DFA particularly warned against facilitation services for the execution of an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (ASG), saying applicants are required to personally appear before the embassy or consulate general.
"The personal appearance of the applicant at the Embassy or the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai is required before an ASG could be issued," it said.
Because of this, it said ASGs provided by travel agencies or private persons are fake.
It warned the unauthorized issuance of such affidavits "is illegal under Philippine and UAE laws."
Meanwhile, the DFA said the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has expedited the release of ASG from five to three working days.
The DFA urged Filipinos to report "facilitators" to the authorities.
"We urge our countrymen to report such activities to the Embassy or Consulate General," it said. KBK, GMA News
